Chrono24 Editor's Picks Omega Speedmaster Teaser

The authors of the Chrono24 Magazine hand-pick the best watch offers on Chrono24 – from affordable daily drivers to famous watch icons and exceptional collector’s pieces.

If you want to buy one of the watches, simply click on the offer and place your order on Chrono24 today. Let us know what you think about this week’s selection in the comments below.

This week’s offers:

Daily drivers (Great watches for under 2000 EUR):

Omega Geneve Chronostop

You can debate whether the Omega Geneve Chronostop from the late 1960s is a watch that can be worn daily; however, with the right care and pre-caution, we think it can. This watch comes in various shapes and colors; some are even rotated 90 degrees so they can be used on the inside of your wrist to time your ‘driving.’

The basic versions are friendly priced, but we foresee that they will go up in price in the near future. A neat daily wearer, perhaps even a nice solid investment.

Enthusiast’s corner (Rare or exceptional timepieces):

IWC Schaffhausen Aquatimer Deep Two

Now discontinued and succeeded, but still available on Chrono24, is the IWC Aquatimer Deep Two. This big chunk of stainless steel is very colorful, but underneath this facade is a very serious divers instrument. Besides a self-winding mechanical movement, the Deep Two also has a mechanical depth-gauge that can measure up to 50 meters. It uses a spring membrane to measure the water pressure and can then display the depth. A nice little complication on this watch.

However, most Aquatimer Deep Two watches probably never made it to water other than the occasional swimming pool dive. Don’t let that stop you from buying one though, it is a beautiful watch.

Steal of the week (Great value for the money in all price ranges):

Rolex Day-Date 18038

A Rolex Day-Date, the steal of the week? Well, in this case it is. A 18 carat gold Rolex Day-Date is the dream watch of many out there. For those who can live without the gold Oyster or President bracelet, this is a great way to purchase one of the golden grails.

The reference 18038 is the successor of the 1803, and has a sapphire crystal and a ‘straight’ dial, as the 1803 had a so-called pie-pan dial. On an alligator strap this watch can be definitely used as a dress watch, while a calf strap with the typical stitching near the lugs make it look like a vintage piece and can be worn with casual attire. It comes cheaper than a new stainless steel Datejust.
